The Olivier Barn at Tippet Rise is a visitors' center, concert hall, art center and state of the art screening room. The Olivier Barn was designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, SIPs were used to enclose the timber frame barn to achieve optimal energy efficiency.
Olivier Barn was designed to create an intimate performance space. The pitched roof creates an elevated, ethereal sound. The timber frames were designed for a true rustic impression, appropriate for the setting. The orientation to the mountains and natural surrounding create an immersive experience in the art, music and natural beauty of Tippet Rise.
The Enercept SIP walls, enclosing the timbers, were a combination of 6" and 8" panels. The Enercept SIP roof was made with 10" panels. The Olivier Barn is heated with a ground source heat pump. Water use is minimized by collecting, naturally purifying and re-using rain and snow melt for irrigation. A 7,000 sq. ft. Solar Canopy provides electrical service. Olivier Barn was designed with the highest standards of sustainability for low carbon emission and net-zero energy consumption.
