SIP Wall and Roof R-Value Charts
There is more to insulating than the R-Values of a wall…Building with SIPS means less air infiltration – no thermal bridging, and a more energy efficient home
What are R-Values?
The measure of the capacity of a material, such as insulation, to impede heat flow, with increasing values indicating a greater capacity.
The overall R-Value for standard 6 ½” Enercept Wall Panel is about 25
- 6″ SIPS wall panel has an R-Value of about 25
- 10″ SIPS roof panel has an R-value of about 40
Enercept used expanded polystyrene (EPS) for it’s insulating core. EPS has an R-Value of 4 per inch of foam.

Colorado Energy.org compares the R-Values of many building materials and features an R-Value table that is also worth checking out.
